There is a profound difference
between looking at the map
and feeling the mud between your toes.
Most people are content with the sketch,
fearing the tactile chaos of the actual.
Yet, the only way to truly know the terrain
is to allow oneself to be stained by it.
We should strive to be less like a fortress
and more like a valley
open to every breeze,
every drop of rain,
and every shadow that passes through.
Insight is not a prize to be captured;
it is a state of being
completely and utterly permeated
by the present.
