When Virtue Falls
Caesar crossed the Rubicon, Rome's ideals drowned,
Proud Romans bowed, power's shadow crowned.
Alexander's dreams of lands, cities burned bright,
Soldiers' hearts turned cold, fame's endless night.
Nero's reign of gold, terror's cruel embrace,
Romans gripped by fear, lost in madness' chase.
Qin Shi Huang's iron rule, scholars buried deep,
Books met flames' desire, silence in their weep.
Henry's love of power, church and faith did break,
England's soul divided, doctrines in their wake.
Genghis Khan's vast empire, cities fell in stride,
Warriors left values, conquest's bloody tide.
Ivan's grip on Russia, terror's fearful sip,
Hearts turned cold in quest, darkness in his grip.
Each leader's choice, ideals left behind,
Followers' morals lost, in history's grind.
