Every family is from taboo

In every family tree, it's true,
Lie secrets deep, a hidden view.
Roots entwined in tales askew,
Of whispers dark and deeds taboo.
Illegitimacy, a shadowed hue,
Criminal acts, a past untrue.
Mental illness, hidden too,
In shadows where our secrets brew.
Same-sex love and bonds anew,
Incest, rape, and struggles through.
Addiction's grip, a silent coup,
All woven in our genetic glue.
These taboos form the roots we knew,
A common thread in our family crew.
For in our genes, the past does strew,
For every branch, the roots taboo grew.
